I can say that there’s no general and pattern approach to the keywords density in your posts or in your blog in general. Everything depends on the search engine you are targeting at. I want to say that I try to target at my potential clients or customers first and think about search engines second. On the whole, it used to be and still remains a common rule to have your keyword density from 3 to 5% if we want to rank high in Google. If your primary goal is Yahoo or Bing, then your keyword density must be almost twice higher, but don’t try to pack your posts with keywords, pack in with useful and interesting info instead.
Personally I know a lot of examples of the site which have only 1% and less percent of the targeted keyword on the page and are in the top.
